The race travels along the North Jetty near Samoa. sand dunes on the North Jetty... popular destination for off road vehicles to race. Trinidad Head as Viewed from College Cove. Note big splash on rock. There is a level trail that goes along the top of the cliffs. Gentle hike. Very handy for checking out the height of the waves before you climb down... The trail/staircase down to the beach is quite steep but in good construction as of spring 2006. It is recommended for surfers and young people only... I went anyway and survived. POPULAR with surfers here. Try MOONSTONE, Luffenholtz and North Jetty too. Main Beach in Trinidad. You can drive right up to the sand so it does not require a lot of effort and climbing staircases... Very popular with families, kids, dogs and old people like me... rarely do surfers come here. Park at North Jetty and jump off the wall to ride the waves in the shipping channel at the entrance to Eureka Bay. Bring a JET-SKI partner. REALLY LONG RIDES...
