The Morris Graves Art Gallery is a sterling example of using Redwood for Construction. Originally it was the Carnegie Free Library. There is a staircase that is just exquisite... A dollhouse with scale model redwood furniture and a tiny part of the staircase. Sculpture Garden out Back... A Flatmo Mural on the Wall of the Expert Tire Auto repair shop. It was a cold day and you can see a gloved hand of my friend taking her own picture... not a part of the mural, it's reality... Morris Graves was a local fine art painter and teacher. He had a home in the mountains where artists could live and work for a few months. My own teacher at HSU said that living in this communal studio was the high point of her life... Having contact with the other artists in this Trinity Alps retreat helped her create better paintings...
